Aaron Swartz was an American computer programmer, entrepreneur, writer, political organizer, and Internet activist. He was a co-founder of Reddit, a developer of the RSS specification, and a proponent of open access to information. Swartz died by suicide in 2013 at the age of 26, following a lengthy legal battle with the U.S. government over charges related to downloading academic journal articles.
