AI TOY GROK

The AI toy Grok is a plush, interactive rocket ship developed by Curio, a Silicon Valley startup, in collaboration with musician Claire Boucher, known as Grimes. Grimes, who is also an investor and advisor for Curio, provides the voice for Grok and two other toys in the line, Gabbo and Grem. The toy uses OpenAI’s language models to enable conversational interactions, aimed at children aged 3 and up to encourage screen-free, imaginative play. It is not affiliated with the xAI chatbot Grok, despite the shared name, which Curio trademarked first as a shortening of “Grocket,” inspired by Grimes’ children’s exposure to SpaceX rockets.
