On December 14, 2022, Robinhood’s official account @RobinhoodApp posted:“We’re raising our #RobinhoodGold rate to 4%.” Attached was a direct Swole Doge meme. Left side: A small, cute, pixelated/regular Doge (labeled something like “The average bank savings rate”). Right side: A massively muscular, jacked-up Swole Doge (labeled “4% APY on your uninvested cash”). The post was promoting their Robinhood Gold subscription and higher interest on cash balances. This is literally Robinhood using the Swole Doge meme in their own marketing. Robinhood didn’t just use a random dog image — they deliberately chose the exact Swole Doge vs. weak Doge template that had been popular for years. This gives the community “receipts” that Robinhood themselves leaned into the strong/diamond-handed dog imagery. CashCat = Early Robinhood (pre-name, cute foundational mascot). CashDog = The 2022-era dog guarding cash (a more literal follow-up from other promo images). Swole Doge = The upgraded, Chad version that Robinhood officially posted.
