RUFUS

A Corgi named Rufus was one of Amazon’s earliest employees. In 1996, two of Amazon’s first employees asked Jeff Bezos if they could bring their Corgi, Rufus, to work. He quickly became an iconic part of the early Amazon office. One day, a former finance executive declared, “From now on, all dogs are named Rufus.” That moment opened the doors for more dogs to become part of Amazon’s workplace culture. Today, Rufus’ legacy lives on. An Amazon building is named after him, products and features have borrowed his name and more than 15’000 dogs are registered across Amazon offices worldwide.
