Federal prosecutors charged former Robinhood engineers Hefu Chai, 36, and Huaisong “Jerry” Xiang, 30, with commodities fraud and wire fraud. Prosecutors allege they used confidential information about upcoming Robinhood asset listings to take leveraged positions before the announcements became public, making more than $50,000 each.
