On August 2, 2026, a 44-year-old man named Galymzhan Abaildayev scaled the north tower of the Brooklyn Bridge, planted several flags (including one from Kazakhstan), stripped naked, and jumped roughly 278 feet into the East River while holding an object overhead that social media widely interpreted as an Uber Eats delivery bag used as a makeshift parachute.
