Nina is a Japanese macaque living at the Awajishima Monkey Center in Japan. Born with severe limb disabilities, she faced challenges from the moment she entered the world. Yet Nina adapted. She learned to move, climb and live her life without arms or hands and in doing so, became a remarkable symbol of resilience. Now, we’re continuing that journey with her. Our mission is simple: make Nina known around the world, share her extraordinary story, build a devoted community around her, and shine a light on the Awajishima Monkey Center – the place she calls home.
