A rare baby pygmy hippo named "Poipoi" was born at a zoo in Portugal. He is the fifth baby of Romina and Kibwana. There are fewer than 2,400 pygmy hippos left in the wild, making every new birth important. Poipoi is also a male, which makes his birth even more special. According to the zoo, only about 1 in 10 pygmy hippos born are male. This makes Poipoi important for the future of the species in Europe.
