Sensay Island, a micronation off the coast of the Philippines, claims to be the world's first AI-governed entity, launched in June 2025 by the company Sensay. It’s a real island, formerly Cheron Island, spanning 3.4 km² with beaches, rainforests, and coral lagoons, but lacks infrastructure like Wi-Fi. The AI government consists of 17 digital replicas of historical figures, trained on their writings, speeches, and philosophies to emulate their decision-making. Marcus Aurelius serves as President, Winston Churchill as Prime Minister, Nelson Mandela as Justice Minister, Eleanor Roosevelt as Foreign Affairs Minister, Sun Tzu as Defense Minister, and others like Ada Lovelace (Science & Technology), Confucius (Education), and Leonardo da Vinci (Culture) fill key roles.
