They commonly reflect his popular post-impressionist style, wherein the psychology and emotions of the models are intense. Greek shipping tycoon George Embiricos sold this painting to the Royal Family of Qatar in a private sale. Reports have said they paid twice the existing auction record for any artwork, making it one of the most expensive paintings in the art world! Its new price after inflation would be over $300 million.
